The leader of the African football group, called CAF, Patrice Motsepe, believes that Tanzania is ready to help host the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) with Kenya and Uganda. After visiting the places being set up for the event, Motsepe said he was happy with how things were going.
Motsepe liked what he saw and said, “I feel very hopeful and sure when I leave Dar es Salaam.” He knows there are still some things being fixed, but he thinks they will be done by the end of December, so Tanzania will be ready for the games.
He stated that everything is proceeding according to plan and praised the stadium and player areas. Motsepe added that because football benefits the community, it is critical that companies support it. He wants other businesses to realize the benefits of the sport and invest in it.
The 2024 CHAN tournament, which will take place from February 1 to 28, 2025, will be co-hosted for the first time by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The competition, which is only open to players from their respective local leagues, will be held for the eighth time and the third time in the CECAFA Zone.
