The Guinean Football Federation has officially proposed to the Senegalese Football Federation that the two countries submit a joint bid to host Africa’s most prestigious football competition in 2032. In a letter dated 31 July 2026, Guinean officials invited the two countries to work together on this project, according to the Senegalese press.

Guinea highlights the geographical proximity between Dakar and Conakry, their historical ties, and the possibility of sharing infrastructure and logistical resources. For the Guinean Football Federation, an Africa Cup of Nations organised jointly by Guinea and Senegal would represent much more than just a sporting event.

This bid would also be a powerful symbol of brotherhood, integration and cooperation between the two nations in the West African sub-region. Having made this proposal, Guinea is now awaiting a response from the Senegalese Football Federation. If Dakar gives its approval, the two parties will be able to explore the possibilities of a joint bid.
