Alonso's first Premier League match in charge was an entertaining one: João Pedro opened the scoring after just 31 seconds, before goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer secured a 3-2 victory over Fulham. Chelsea then beat Luton 2-0 in the League Cup, with Danny Welbeck scoring on his debut.
