The Botswana Premier League opening-round match between Jwaneng Galaxy and Township Rollers ended almost as soon as it had begun. The game had to be stopped just four minutes after kick-off due to an unusual situation involving the visitors' squad.

Township Rollers took to the field with just seven players. Then, in the fourth minute, one of their players suffered an injury and was unable to continue. This left the visitors with only six players on the pitch.

Under the Laws of the Game, a team cannot continue a match if it has fewer than the minimum permitted number of players. The referee was therefore forced to abandon the game prematurely.

As a result, the match between Jwaneng Galaxy and Township Rollers was officially abandoned. However, a final decision on the result has yet to be made.

It has been reported that the outcome of the match will be determined by the relevant football authorities in Botswana. They will decide what result, if any, is to be awarded following this extraordinary turn of events.
