All proceeds from the World Cup will be allocated to supporting and developing football.

Details: At the World Sports Summit in Dubai, FIFA President Gianni Infantino addressed criticism regarding the high ticket prices for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

According to Infantino, these prices are necessary to ensure that the tournament's revenue covers expenses and also helps to develop football in over 150 countries:

"What matters is that the revenues generated from this are reinvested into the game all over the world.

Without FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries. Football exists thanks to the income we receive from the World Cup, which we reinvest globally." Infantino stated.

Previously, many fans criticized FIFA for the soaring ticket prices, which far exceeded those of previous FIFA tournaments. The controversy was further fueled in the media after it emerged that FIFA plans to sell parking passes for cars at the 2026 World Cup.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. The opening match will be held in Mexico City, with the final set for New York/New Jersey.
