The Franco-Senegalese striker joins the French top-flight club on loan with an option to buy.

Ibrahima Baldé is thus moving from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 to bolster Alexandre Dujeux’s attacking line-up for the 2026–2027 season. This transfer comes as a reward for an exceptional start to the season by the Senegalese-born striker, who has scored five goals in just four Ligue 2 matches whilst playing for Rodez.

This goal-scoring prowess convinced FC Lorient to secure Ibrahima Baldé’s services in the final hours of the summer transfer window. The purchase option attached to the 23-year-old striker’s loan is reportedly set at 3 million euros.

Should this option be exercised at the end of the 2026–2027 season, Ibrahima Baldé would then sign a permanent contract with FC Lorient. The Franco-Senegalese striker will be aiming to establish himself as a key member of the FC Lorient squad throughout the season.
