Every team that qualifies for the World Cup is guaranteed to earn big money.
Details: Today, a FIFA meeting took place where the final investment budget for the 2026 World Cup was approved.
After calculations and voting, it was decided to allocate a sum of $727 million, which is a staggering 50% more than what was allocated for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The allocated funds will be distributed among the participating teams and their member associations as follows:
- Winners: $50 million.
- Second place: $33 million.
- Third place: $29 million.
- Fourth place: $27 million.
- 5th-8th places: $19 million.
- 9th-16th places: $15 million.
- 17th-32nd places: $11 million.
- 33rd-48th places: $9 million.
Additionally, every team that advances to the group stage of the 2026 World Cup will receive $1.5 million as compensation for preparation expenses.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, kicking off in Mexico City on June 11 with a match between the hosts and South Africa at the legendary Azteca Stadium.
