Brahim Hemdani set to become Algeria’s new head coach

The Algerian Football Federation is said to be impressed by the 48-year-old coach’s credentials, having been won over by his recent results at the helm of the Under-21 national team.

The situation regarding Vladimir Petković’s successor at the helm of the Algerian national team’s coaching staff appears to be taking shape. According to reports, Brahim Hemdani is tipped to become the new manager of the Fennecs, with Antar Yahia at his side as assistant manager.

The Algerian Football Federation, which is said to be impressed by the Algerian tactician’s credentials, has nevertheless opted for a cautious approach rather than formally announcing his appointment straight away. Brahim Hemdani is expected to be given a trial run as head coach during the September international break, before the governing body makes a final decision on his future at the helm of the national team following that training camp.

Should the appointment be confirmed, Brahim Hemdani would then step down from his role as manager of the Under-21 national team just two months after taking up the post.
