OFFICIAL: Man City sign Enzo Fernández for €146m
Manchester City have detonated a genuine transfer bomb on deadline day.
Details: Enzo Fernández has completed his move from Chelsea to Manchester City in a blockbuster deal worth £125 million, approximately €146 million. The fixed fee puts the Argentina midfielder among the most expensive footballers in British football history.
The 25-year-old leaves Chelsea after three and a half years in London. Fernández joined the Blues from Benfica in January 2023 and gradually became one of the central figures in the team, regularly wearing the captain's armband.
The move also reunites Fernández with Enzo Maresca. The pair previously worked together at Chelsea, and the midfielder now becomes another major addition to the Italian coach's squad at Manchester City.
The £125 million fee matches the British transfer record and represents a huge investment from City as they continue reshaping their midfield for the 2026/27 campaign.
It is worth noting that Fernández was Chelsea's leading appearance-maker during the 2025/26 season. The Argentine featured in 54 matches across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 7 assists.
