The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has imposed harsh sanctions on Amedspor, a club competing in the second division.

Details: Amedspor was fined €15,400, and its president was suspended from all official activities for 15 days. The reason for this decision was a post on X and Instagram, which the country's football authorities deemed unacceptable for a sporting organization.

The scandal erupted over a video featuring a braid—a hairstyle traditionally associated with Kurdish culture and identity. Sports authorities interpreted this as political propaganda. According to TFF regulations, any references to national or cultural identity in football are strictly prohibited, as the federation believes sport must remain completely neutral.

The club from Diyarbakır has found itself under scrutiny from the authorities more than once. Amedspor regularly faces monitoring and sanctions for similar reasons. Both fans and club management often claim biased treatment, while football officials insist on the strict enforcement of rules that prohibit any form of political or ethnic demonstration.

It’s worth noting that Amedspor currently leads the second-tier Turkish division and is on the verge of promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig.

Reminder: Inter Milan is targeting Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor.
