Once a promising talent. Ex-Chelsea winger Musonda retires at 28

At one point, winger Charly Musonda was considered an exciting prospect, earning himself the tag of the “new Eden Hazard.” However, his career didn’t pan out as hoped, and now he’s made what he believes is the best decision for himself.
Details: Musonda, who will turn 29 on October 15, has announced his retirement from professional football. At the same time, he wants to stay in the game, helping talented young players who struggle to make their breakthrough.

Quote: “Today I made a decision—a decision I’ve wrestled with for a long time. I am announcing my retirement from professional football. It wasn’t easy, but I want to live with purpose. I want to help players. Now I’m preparing for the next stage of my life—the one that truly inspires me.
I’ve decided to stop playing, but I’m staying in football. I want to help players unlock their potential and get the chance to show what they can do. There are so many talented footballers in the world who don’t have that opportunity—and I know what that’s like.
The football world has changed. Many players don’t even get the chance to show their true potential. I want to change that. I want them to believe in themselves and become professionals,” Musonda told Rising Ballers in an interview.
Reminder: In addition to Chelsea, Musonda also played for Real Betis, Celtic, Vitesse, and Levante. His last club was Cypriot side Anorthosis. After leaving the island nation in September last year, he remained without a club.
