He has gone mad. Ronaldo prepared a list of demands for Jorge Jesus
Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wanted Jorge Jesus to publicly put an end to their conflict on the captain's terms.
Details: According to CNN Portugal, after Ronaldo remained an unused substitute against Norway, the forward set out a series of points that Jorge Jesus was expected to address at his press conference before Denmark vs Portugal. The report claims that, following talks between the two sides and people close to them, the coach received a prepared list of messages intended to show publicly that the dispute had been settled.
Among the points attributed to Ronaldo was praise for his dedication and love for the Portugal national team. Jesus was also expected to explain that he and Cristiano had previously agreed on a special plan for the 2026/27 season, which included managing the striker's playing time. The coach was supposed to stress that Ronaldo had accepted those decisions and had never questioned his authority.
The most striking part reportedly concerned the Norway match. CNN Portugal claims Jesus was expected to publicly admit he had made a mistake by sending Ronaldo to warm up for a long period and then leaving him on the bench. In that context, the coach was supposedly expected to compare Cristiano's status with figures such as Pelé and Diego Maradona and acknowledge that a player of such stature should not have been kept warming up without a clear need.
Jesus was also expected to defend Ronaldo over his decision not to join his teammates in thanking the supporters after the final whistle. The message was supposed to emphasize that nobody could lecture a player with Ronaldo's record about his love for Portugal and that his reaction should be viewed as a moment of frustration. The coach did touch on several of these subjects at the press conference, but no public apology followed.
Ronaldo subsequently left the Portugal camp. CNN Portugal has since reported that the forward does not intend to return to the national team while Jorge Jesus remains in charge. Cristiano himself has not publicly announced his international retirement or issued such an ultimatum. It is worth noting that UEFA currently credits Ronaldo with 146 goals in 234 appearances for Portugal, both all-time records in men's international football.
Reminder: The door is open! Jesus promises Ronaldo a call-up if he wants to return
