Moldova - Slovakia: Match preview and H2H
Moldova won their group in the previous Nations League cycle. They collected nine points from four matches against Malta and Andorra and earned promotion to the higher division. However, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, they once again finished bottom of their group, picking up just one point. As for this year's Nations League campaign, Moldova first lost 0:2 to Slovakia, then drew 1:1 with the Faroe Islands and beat Kazakhstan 2:1 in their most recent game. They have four points after three rounds and a 3:4 goal difference.
Slovakia are currently producing very good results. The team won their first two matches against Moldova 2:0 and Kazakhstan, although they surprisingly dropped points against the Faroe Islands. Nevertheless, Slovakia remain top of the group and have seven points. Slovakia also played at Euro 2024, where they even reached the knockout stage, but then failed to qualify for the World Cup. They finished behind Germany in their qualifying group and, in the spring, surprisingly lost 3:4 to Kosovo in the World Cup qualifying semi-final.
