Madness! Ronaldo is trying to get Jorge Jesus fired
The Ronaldo–Jesus conflict has produced another explosive allegation from inside Portuguese football.
Details: Carlos Padrão, a longtime friend of Jorge Jesus, has publicly blamed Cristiano Ronaldo's staff for escalating the dispute and singled out Tiago Craveiro. According to the Cabine Desportiva post, Padrão further accused Craveiro — a CR7 SA strategic adviser and former Portuguese Football Federation executive — of threatening that Jesus could be dismissed unless the Portugal coach opened his press conference with a prepared script containing an apology to Ronaldo. This specific allegation has not been independently confirmed.
A separate report published by Nova Gente confirms that Padrão accused Ronaldo's staff of being chiefly responsible for inflaming the situation. He then explicitly named Craveiro and urged journalists to investigate his alleged role. However, the published text does not independently substantiate the reported dismissal threat or the existence of a prepared apology script.
Craveiro's connection to Ronaldo is verifiable. He has served as a strategic adviser to CR7 SA since late 2023. Before that, he spent a decade as director general of the Portuguese Football Federation, from 2012 until 2022, and later moved into a strategic advisory role with UEFA.
The accusations arrive amid an already severe rupture between Ronaldo and Jesus. The Portugal captain left the national-team camp on September 30 following Jesus' press conference, after previously remaining an unused substitute against Norway. The dispute has since escalated publicly, with conflicting versions of what was promised to Ronaldo behind closed doors.
It is worth noting that UEFA currently lists Cristiano Ronaldo as the all-time record holder in men's international football for both goals and appearances: 146 goals in 234 matches for Portugal.
Reminder: Point of no return. Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to play for Portugal under Jesus
