Chelsea's pursuit of Alex Scott is gathering serious momentum.

Details: According to Matt Law, Chelsea are currently leading the race to sign Bournemouth and England midfielder Alex Scott in 2027. The London club made several attempts to land the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window, but Bournemouth rejected bids believed to be worth more than £60 million.

Despite those setbacks, Chelsea's interest has not cooled. Law reports that the Blues remain highly interested in Scott and are now at the front of the queue of clubs monitoring his situation ahead of 2027.

Scott's reputation has received another major boost on the international stage. The midfielder made his first England start in the 7-0 Nations League victory over Croatia on Saturday and earned praise from national-team head coach Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea are also expected to continue strengthening their midfield after Enzo Fernandez's move to Manchester City.

Competition for Scott is unlikely to disappear. Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with the Bournemouth midfielder, while the Cherries have shown little desire to lose one of their key players. It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently values Alex Scott at €50 million, with his Bournemouth contract running until June 30, 2028.
