£80m bombshell! Liverpool prepare move for Bournemouth star
Liverpool have entered the hunt for one of the Premier League's most in-demand young midfielders.
Details: According to BBC Sport, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, while Arsenal are also admirers of the 23-year-old England international. The Cherries have made their position clear ahead of the winter window and are not willing to entertain offers for the player in January.
Bournemouth could reconsider their stance at the end of the season, once their Premier League objectives have either been achieved or are no longer attainable. Reports suggest the club would demand at least £80 million to sanction Scott's departure.
Scott is also understood to have ambitions of eventually joining one of England's biggest clubs. His contract situation could become increasingly important: by January he will be entering the final 18 months of his current deal, while Bournemouth have already seen two attempts to discuss an extension rejected. Chelsea also had a £64 million bid for the midfielder turned down during the summer.
It is worth noting that Scott has just made his senior England debut. The Bournemouth midfielder came on in the second half of the 2-0 Nations League victory away to Czechia, earning his first cap at the age of 23.
