A blockbuster transfer in the works: Chelsea target Barcelona star
Chelsea have renewed their interest in Barcelona defender Jules Koundé and could try to sign the Frenchman during the January transfer window. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old has once again attracted the attention of the London club amid a notable reduction in his role at the Catalan side.
In the current season, Koundé has started just two of Barcelona’s eight official matches, while remaining on the bench for the other six. The situation has caught the eye of clubs looking for an experienced right-back.
However, Koundé’s problems extend beyond club football. Following Zinedine Zidane’s appointment as France head coach, the defender has also lost his regular place in the starting lineup. He started against Turkey but was subsequently left on the bench for matches against Belgium and Italy.

Koundé has so far shown no desire to leave Barcelona, but a further reduction in playing time could push both sides to discuss a transfer.
