A blow for Senegal international Abdallah Sima at RC Lens
The Senegalese striker, who sustained a thigh injury during the last international break, will be sidelined until the end of November.
Having picked up the injury whilst on international duty with the Lions of Teranga during the international break, which coincided with the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Abdallah Sima was unable to feature in Senegal’s friendly against the Comoros (1–0) on Sunday 4 October at the Stade Vélodrome.
Back in Lens, the striker underwent medical tests to determine the exact nature of his injury. According to Le Lensois, Sima is out of action until the end of November.
This absence is a major blow for RC Lens, who are losing one of their in-form strikers since the start of the season. In five appearances in the 2026–2027 Ligue 1 season, Abdallah Sima has scored one goal and provided one assist.
For Senegal, the striker had started the first two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers under Patrick Vieira. Starting against Mozambique (1–1) and Ethiopia (1–0), he provided an assist during the away match in Maputo.
