South Africa registers interests to host Olympics 2036 edition

South Africa's deputy Sports Minister Peace Mabe has disclosed the country is interested in hosting the Olympic Games.

Mabe said South Africa, like it did with the 2010 World Cup, wants to be the first African nation to host the Olympic games.

“In the history of the Olympics, there’s no African country that has hosted the Olympics,” said Mabe.

We are definitely going to be it as South Africa. If it goes to Durban or any other city in South Africa, as the department, we definitely support that initiative.”
