Igor Matanović is quickly becoming one of the hottest names on the transfer radar.

Details: According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all keeping a close eye on Freiburg striker Igor Matanović. The 23-year-old Croatian has attracted growing attention with his performances, and several major English clubs are now monitoring his situation ahead of a potential transfer.

The report adds that Arsenal and Chelsea have frequently had representatives watching Matanović this season, while Manchester United have already discussed the forward internally. At this stage, however, there is no indication that any of the three clubs have opened formal negotiations with Freiburg, meaning the race remains at the scouting and monitoring stage.

Matanović joined Freiburg in the summer of 2025 and has made a particularly impressive start to the new campaign. CaughtOffside reports that the striker has scored six goals in his first seven appearances in all competitions this season. Standing at around 1.96 metres, the Croatian combines an imposing physical presence with technical qualities that have caught the attention of Premier League scouts.

Freiburg are unlikely to let their striker leave cheaply. According to the same source, Matanović could have been available for around £30 million during the summer, but his current valuation has now risen to approximately £50 million. The player is also reportedly open to a move to England if a suitable offer arrives.

It is worth noting that Matanović scored 15 goals for Freiburg in all competitions last season, while he has already found the net six times in his first seven matches of the current campaign.
