Makhehleni Makhaula, last season, said his retirement will be after helping Orlando Pirates clinch the Betway Premiership title.
And he duly helped the Soweto giants with the PSL title after more than eight years of not winning it.
But all and sundry were surprised to see the veteran midfielder return this season in a black and white Pirates shirt.
“Yeah, it was like that, but all thanks to my chairman who said, 'Cash, you still got the legs, can you go for one more, and maybe we will see?' I said, 'Okay, chairman,'” said Makhaula ahead of Saturday's MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
"It's really exciting to go to another final, with a different group, and hopefully we will win it," he added.
