After another disappointing result for Liverpool in the Premier League—a 3-3 draw with Leeds—the Reds' winger Mohamed Salah has voiced his deep frustration with manager Arne Slot's decision to leave him on the bench for the third consecutive match.

Details: In an interview with tv2sport, Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah stated that despite his achievements, he feels the club is unfairly placing all the blame on him—making him the “scapegoat.”

"I can't believe it, I'm very disappointed. I've done so much for this club, and everyone has seen it over the years, especially last season. I feel the club has made me the scapegoat. That's how I see it," Salah said.

The Egyptian noted that his relationship with the manager had been good, but now "suddenly that relationship just doesn't exist."

“Honestly, for me, this is unacceptable. I don't know why this always happens to me. Mo is to blame for everything because he's the problem. I don't think I'm the problem,” Salah added.

The winger also shared his thoughts ahead of the match:

“Yesterday I spoke to my mother and told her I wouldn't be on the pitch. You didn't know this, but I did. I told her to come to the next match because it might be my last for this club. We'll see what happens next, but in my mind, I'll still try to enjoy playing because I don't know what comes after. The match will be at Anfield, so it could be my farewell before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations.”

This season, the Egyptian winger has made nineteen appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

For the record: Hugo Ekitike became the first Premier League player since 2019 to score twice in the opening five minutes of the second half.
