The essence of the changes was that if a head coach felt the referee's decision on the pitch was unfair, they could raise a special card and request a review of the incident using the FVS system.
FVS is a video replay system that reviews key refereeing decisions, requiring head coaches to hand the card to the fourth official to signal their intention to challenge a call.
After thoroughly reviewing all proposals, the clubs decided to reject these innovations, arguing they would slow down matches and disrupt the cherished traditions that England holds so dear.
