Young Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has rapidly risen to become one of the most talked-about footballers in the world over the past year. Today, he achieved yet another age-related milestone.
Details: Yamal was named in Barcelona's starting lineup for the first Champions League group stage match against Monaco, marking his 11th appearance in the prestigious tournament.
With this, Yamal set a new record for the most Champions League appearances by a player under the age of 18, surpassing Jude Bellingham, Warren Zaïre-Emery, and Youri Tielemans, who each played 10 matches at that age.
Reminder: Earlier today, the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo praised Yamal, calling him one of the best players of the new generation.
Yamal is the second-youngest player ever to appear in the Champions League and the youngest to register a goal contribution in the competition.
