Marseille: bright start followed by a setback
Bruno Génésio's side began the league campaign with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Strasbourg before losing 2-0 to Monaco. Despite having 64% possession, Marseille managed only two shots on target, which was one of their main problems in that match.
Marseille look far more confident at home: they are unbeaten in their last four Ligue 1 matches at the Vélodrome and scored at least three goals in three of them. In addition, the Provençal side have picked up points in each of their last five meetings with Paris.
Paris: solid defence and confident start
Liam Rosenior's side began the season with a goalless draw against Troyes before beating Nice 3-0. Along with Monaco, Paris are one of only two Ligue 1 teams yet to concede a goal.
Kevin Trapp is still yet to concede this season, while Lassine Sinayoko, Samir Chergui and Vincent Marchetti were all on target in the previous round. However, trips to Marseille have historically been extremely difficult for the visitors — they last picked up a point at the Vélodrome back in 1978.
