Chelsea have achieved a unique feat in Premier League history. The London club have become the first team to score within the opening five minutes of each of their first three matches of a season.

In their third Premier League game, the Blues once again struck right at the start of the match, with Rogers scoring in just the second minute. As a result, Xabi Alonso’s side have written their names into Premier League history.

Chelsea have made an extremely productive start to the current campaign. In the opening round, the Londoners beat Fulham 3-2, with João Pedro opening the scoring after just 31 seconds — the fastest goal in the opening round of the 2026/27 season.

Chelsea produced another high-scoring match in the second round, beating Brighton 4-3, with Lavia opening the scoring after just four minutes. As a result, the team had a 100 per cent record after two rounds and had scored seven goals.

Chelsea have now extended their impressive run into the third round, finding the net against Arsenal. The Gunners responded through Havertz, however, and the teams went into half-time level at 1-1.
