Will he face Valencia? Flick comments on Barcelona star’s injury
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on Lamine Yamal, who picked up an injury and is currently unable to train with the rest of the squad. The German coach admitted that a final decision on the young Spaniard’s involvement in the upcoming match will be made later.
“Lamine took a knock, so we’ll have to wait until tomorrow. We decided it would be better for him to train separately, but he will travel with us and we hope he can play,” Flick said.
The coaching staff have decided not to risk Yamal’s fitness and allowed him to complete an individual training session. At the same time, the player will travel with the team for the upcoming fixture, and his involvement remains a possibility.
Yamal’s condition will therefore be assessed again tomorrow, 6 September. If the injury is not serious and the player feels well, he could help the Catalan side in their upcoming clash with Valencia.
The situation is particularly important for Barcelona, as Yamal is one of the team’s key players and a crucial figure in attack. The Catalan club will be hoping the young talent can avoid a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
