Bayern Munich has taken an unexpected step in the realm of digital security and internal automation—the club has prohibited its employees from using ChatGPT and other external AI platforms. Instead, staff members are now required to utilize an internally developed artificial intelligence system.
Details: Thomas Ehemann, head of Digital Fan Experience, announced at the ISPO sports expo in Munich that the club has developed its own AI platform, which is already actively used in the fan service and legal departments. To ensure employees don’t bypass this internal solution, management has blocked access to external AI services on work devices, including ChatGPT.
Despite this strict move, there’s been almost no resistance within the team.
“We thought there would be more pushback, but the staff are pleased with the flexible and user-friendly tool,” Ehemann noted.
As a result, around 300 Bayern Munich employees no longer have access to ChatGPT.
Reminder: Bayern is interested in Brighton’s Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba.
