Manchester City left almost no chance to Manchester United. At Old Trafford, in front of their fans, the "red devils" suffered a crushing defeat 0:3. The first and second goals were scored by Erling Haaland, the third goal was scored by Phil Foden.
Soccer stars criticized the game of Manchester United in this duel. One of the harshest reactions was from former Red Devils player Roy Keane, who opined that the two clubs from Manchester are now from different sports.
Roy Keane, former Manchester United player on Sky Sports, said:
"It's different levels. The United players are just short in every aspect. Technically and tactically. It's a long way back for this team.
It wasn't good from United, brilliant from City. There was no need for United to be that open at the start of the second half.
Credit to Manchester City, they are an outstanding team."
Gary Neville, former Manchester United player on Sky Sports:
"The first half was a contest. The second half wasn't a contest. "The performance of the players [Man Utd]...it became shambles
Utd have gone missing in the second half. Half the crowd have left because they know what they are
Let's be honest, United has been obliterated. City deserved that, and so does Manchester United.
City needed this. They haven't been at their best in the last couple of weeks. This will get them purring".
Chris Waddle, former Newcastle, Tottenham and Marseille player on BBC Radio 5 Live
"I have got to say the best team have won for miles. It was no contest for me. Man United had a couple of chances but let's be honest, 88 minutes of this game was Manchester City's.
The difference between the two sides is absolutely massive. Man United needs too have a clear out and gets some new players in. This just shows you the quality of Manchester City."
Micah Richards, former Manchester City player on Sky Sports:
"It was a footballing lesson. Manchester United didn't know what to do."
