Jesse Bisiwu's first weeks at Barcelona have been overshadowed by a frightening injury scare.

Details: The 18-year-old Belgian winger was forced off during Barça Atlètic's Copa Catalunya final against Sabadell after suffering an ankle injury. Bisiwu was involved in a challenge with Gonzalo Ávila and immediately appeared to be in considerable pain.

Barcelona's medical staff quickly came onto the pitch, and the youngster was eventually taken off on a stretcher as he was unable to continue. The scenes looked worrying, especially considering that Bisiwu only joined the Catalan club this summer.

For now, the exact extent of the damage and the potential recovery period have not been officially confirmed. The winger is expected to undergo further medical examinations that should determine the severity of the ankle problem.

Bisiwu joined Barcelona from Club Brugge at the end of July and signed a contract running until June 30, 2031. The Belgian had already trained with Hansi Flick's first team before featuring for Barça Atlètic.

It is worth noting that Bisiwu was born on January 22, 2008 and was named in the Best XI of the 2025 European Under-17 Championship after helping Belgium reach the semifinals. Before moving to Barcelona, he made 36 appearances for Club NXT in Belgium's second division.
