Here we go! Manchester United striker leaves Old Trafford for the Netherlands
Manchester United have found a temporary destination for one of their young attacking talents.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, 18-year-old striker Chido Obi is set to leave Manchester United and join Dutch side Willem II on loan. Romano has given the transfer his famous here we go, indicating that the agreement between the clubs has been completed.
The deal will be a season-long loan lasting until the end of the 2026/27 campaign. Manchester United have also authorized Obi to undergo his medical with Willem II today, with the final formalities now being completed.
Importantly, the agreement does not contain a purchase option. That means Willem II will not have a pre-agreed right to sign the striker permanently next summer, and Obi is expected to return to Manchester United once the loan spell is over.
The move should give the young forward an opportunity to receive regular senior minutes in the Netherlands after finding first-team opportunities limited at Old Trafford. Obi is a Denmark youth international and has already made eight senior appearances for Manchester United.
