The future of Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia is shrouded in uncertainty. The Portuguese striker has missed Al Nassr’s last two matches, staging a protest against what he believes is biased treatment of his club.
According to ESPN, the Portuguese star is not ruling out a move as early as this summer. One of the possible options on the table is a return to Lisbon’s Sporting, the club where Ronaldo began his professional career.
However, a potential transfer is complicated by a buyout clause in the forward’s contract. The release fee stands at £43 million—a hefty sum for a 41-year-old footballer, which significantly lowers the chances of the deal going through.
Meanwhile, Al Nassr has already started exploring options to replace Ronaldo. Among the potential candidates to bolster their attack are Bruno Fernandes and Mohamed Salah.
