Off until 2030! Leeds tie down defensive rock Rodon with a new long-term deal
Leeds have secured the future of one of their most reliable performers just before the big kick-off.
Details: Leeds United have officially announced that Joe Rodon has signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2030. The 28-year-old Welsh centre-back, whose previous deal was due to run until 2028, has committed his long-term future to Elland Road.
The extension is the latest move in an ambitious summer for Daniel Farke's side, who returned to the Premier League in 2025 and have since added James Trafford, Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi, while captain Ethan Ampadu also penned fresh terms until 2030. The timing is no coincidence either: the Whites kick off the new league campaign this Saturday away at Nottingham Forest.
Rodon arrived at Elland Road from Tottenham in 2024 for around £10 million after a successful loan spell, and became an instant cornerstone: he played every single league game of the 2024/25 Championship title-winning season and remained a regular last year in the top flight. It's worth noting that Transfermarkt currently values the Welshman at around €17 million.
Reminder: Official: Premier League club unexpectedly signs Switzerland star.
