The young Anderlecht defender is said to have narrowed his choice down to the Ivory Coast, Morocco and Belgium.

According to reports from Almountakhab, Kais Barry has decided to represent Morocco on the international stage. With Ivorian, Belgian and Moroccan heritage, the 20-year-old centre-back has declined to wear the Ivory Coast shirt, despite his father hailing from that country.

Kais Barry is the son of former Ivorian international goalkeeper Copa Barry, who won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast Elephants. This strong sporting heritage makes his decision to represent the Atlas Lions rather than his father’s country all the more notable.

The Anderlecht player had previously represented Belgium at youth level, playing up to the U19s, before finally opting for Morocco.
