Morocco are set to face France in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and one of the African side's players has already made World Cup history.

Details: According to Ben Jacobs, Ayyoub Bouaddi has become the second-youngest player ever to appear in a FIFA World Cup quarter-final. He is currently 18 years and 280 days old.

The record is still held by Pelé, who was 17 years and 239 days old when he featured in Brazil's 1958 World Cup quarter-final against Wales.

Meanwhile, FIFA has announced the officiating team for the match. Every member of the refereeing crew is from Argentina, marking the first time in FIFA World Cup history that an entire officiating team for a World Cup match has come from the same country.

Reminder: Lionel Messi recently set another unique FIFA World Cup record.
