Major scandal erupts in El Clásico. Did De Jong use his hand to start Barcelona’s goal-scoring move?

The latest chapter in the fierce rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid—famously known as El Clásico—continues to grip Spain. The first half of this thrilling encounter ended in favor of the Catalans, 4-2. However, Barcelona might have had one goal too many on the scoreboard.
The controversy centers around the third goal-scoring attack, where Barça’s captain Frenkie de Jong appeared to control the ball with his hand during an interception.

Broadcast replays clearly showed the ball striking the midfielder’s arm just below the shoulder.

Neither the on-field referee nor the VAR team reacted to the incident.
After this moment, Barcelona completed more than ten passes before the ball eventually found its way into Thibaut Courtois’ net. Frenkie de Jong himself was involved in possession again during this sequence.
It seems the officials either judged that the ball did not hit De Jong’s hand or opted not to bring play back to the midfield incident where Barça’s captain appeared to use his arm.
