Mbappé scored five goals in El Clásico in his first season. But how many did Messi score in total in El Clásico?

French striker Kylian Mbappé is playing his debut season for Real Madrid. The “Merengues” faithful hoped the forward would become one of the key figures in the club’s success this season.
However, in his first campaign with Real, Mbappé and his team were left almost empty-handed, claiming only the UEFA Super Cup last summer.
Still, in one particular stat, the 26-year-old has truly been the most valuable player for his team this season.
In four El Clásico clashes against Barcelona, Kylian has netted five goals: one each in the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, plus a hat-trick in the matchday 35 La Liga showdown.
That said, Mbappé is still a long way from becoming the all-time top scorer in El Clásico history. For instance, former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi scored 26 goals against Real Madrid throughout his career. The next two highest scorers in this iconic rivalry are Real legends Alfredo Di Stéfano and Cristiano Ronaldo, each with 18 goals.
It’s worth noting that Di Stéfano, Ronaldo, and Mbappé all joined Real Madrid during their careers, while Messi spent virtually his entire professional journey at the Catalan club.
