Mbappé on fire! The Frenchman sets a new club record for Real

Barcelona and Real face off in matchday 35 of the Spanish La Liga.
Right from the opening minutes, the referee gave Barcelona fans plenty of reasons to be upset. Kylian Mbappé broke through on Szczęsny’s goal, and the Polish keeper clearly committed a foul, conceding a penalty. On the replays, it looked like Kylian might have been offside at the moment of the pass, but after a VAR review, the penalty was awarded.
The man who earned the penalty stepped up himself, and though it wasn’t easy, he managed to outsmart Barcelona’s Polish goalkeeper. Then, in the 14th minute, Mbappé struck again, this time finishing off a pass from Vinícius to complete his brace.
Notably, this was Mbappé’s 38th goal of the current season. The French star has broken Iván Zamorano’s record, who scored 37 goals in his debut season for Real.
It’s worth adding that if Real win this match, they’ll close the gap on Barcelona to just one point. Remember, after this game, both teams will have only three matches left in the season.
