Conflict at Real Madrid? Diomande frustrated with his playing time
Yan Diomande's first weeks at Real Madrid are proving much more complicated than the youngster expected.
Details: According to OK Diario, the 19-year-old winger is growing frustrated with the amount of playing time he has received since arriving at Real Madrid. Diomande reportedly expected to have a significantly bigger role at the beginning of the season, but so far José Mourinho has been cautious with the Ivorian and has mainly used him from the bench.
Despite the player's disappointment, the situation has not developed into an open confrontation with the head coach. Mourinho believes Diomande's opportunity will come and has asked the youngster to remain patient while he adapts to the team and fights for a place in a star-studded attacking line.
Competition for attacking positions in Madrid is extremely intense, and Diomande has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. Earlier reports from Spain had already highlighted his difficult route into Mourinho's starting XI, with the Portuguese coach preferring not to rush the teenager's integration.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid officially signed Diomande from RB Leipzig in August for €125 million. According to DailySports statistics, the Ivorian featured in all four of Madrid's opening La Liga matches but did not start any of them, recording 83 minutes without a goal or an assist.
