Kaizer Chiefs' Mduduzi Shabalala on critics of his game: I have learnt to face critics in a mature way than taking it with emotions
Mduduzi Shabalala has grown leaps and bounds not only as a player but also as a person.
The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder revealed that facing critics week in and week out has taught him a lot as a person.
Shabalala has been under severe criticism lately with football community laying blame on him for his lack of goals.
“It took me some time to be able to handle critics cause when you’re young, you’re happy when they talk good things about you but when bad is said, you can’t deal with them,” said Shabalala.
“But for now, I’ve been around players who’ve been in the same situations as mine and learnt from them. They also taught me.
“And also being in this type of environment makes one grow because you can see things in a mature way not with emotions.”
Shabalala’s Chiefs are away to Egyptian giants Zamalek this Sunday and are looking for nothing less than a victory.
Amakhosi are on course to secure a place in the Caf Confederation Cup knockout stage and the game on Sunday will determine if that happens or not.
Shabalala’s maturity will also be tested in that game.
