Kaizer Chiefs coach on Siphesihle Ndlovu and Lebohang Maboe combination: They have given us some good impetus and stability in midfield

Siphesihle Ndlovu and Lebohang Maboe are responsible for the Kaizer Chiefs stability in midfield.

The duo received applauds from Amakhosi co-coach Ben Youssef Khalid after some spirited displays in midfield for the Naturena-based side.

Chiefs are on the verge of making it to the Caf Confederation Cup stages as they face Egyptian giants Zamalek this Sunday.

Last weekend, they beat Al Masry 2-1 with Ndlovu and Maboe holding their own in the midfield in Polokwane’s New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“I think with Maboe and Ndlovu they give us a lot of stability,” said Youssef.

“The last few games if we changed Maboe or Ndlovu, just to manage them because it was a big risk of injury for them. So, I have to manage the load for them. And we know midfielder it’s always the first player to do a lot of sprint, lot of distance, so I have to manage them. When we finished before the break, I think it was Maboe and George Matlou. Also, they gave us a lot of stability.

“To be honest we have a great squad. We have different quality of midfielder. Playing Ndlovu and Maboe give us a lot of technical quality, lot of stability inside. Some players they give us more physical quality and every game we’re managing, each game dependent on the load, dependent on the physical situation of the player and also dependent of the opponent.”
