Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has addressed rumors suggesting that the Catalan club allegedly asked him to hold back his scoring to avoid paying a bonus to Bayern Munich.

Details: Speaking on Rymanowski Live, Robert Lewandowski indirectly confirmed the rumors, stating that the issue was indeed linked to the club's financial situation.

“There are things I don't want to talk about. I respect Barcelona and everyone who works there. I was aware of the club's situation—a lot had to be solved for the good of the club,” Lewandowski said.

The striker confirmed that the issue was indeed about a bonus included in his transfer agreement:

“To put it simply, it was a bonus. At that moment, Barcelona was literally counting every euro. It was a considerable sum.”

Lewandowski emphasized, however, that the situation did not affect him personally:

“It wasn't a problem for me, but I still caught myself thinking—should I score or not?” the striker added.

It's worth noting that this season, the Polish forward has already played eighteen matches, scoring eight goals and registering one assist.

Reminder: Barcelona plans to open another section of the stands by the end of January.
