Barcelona continue the reconstruction of Camp Nou and are gradually reopening sections of the stadium to supporters. Now the club are aiming to further expand access.
Details: According to information from Diario SPORT, Barcelona’s plan is to obtain permission by 25 January to allow 62,000 fans into the stadium. If everything is implemented as planned, the first and second tiers of the stadium will be completed, which will then allow construction of the third tier.
This would increase the overall capacity of the stadium to approximately 105,000 spectators.
Notably, the Catalan club have already submitted documents to the city council in order to receive approval to increase the stadium’s capacity. This will include the opening of the Gol Nord sector, allowing fans to occupy the entire first and second tiers of the stadium.
Reminder: Barcelona’s 33-year-old German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen could soon find himself in the English Premier League.
