Barcelona may lose their experienced goalkeeper as early as this winter.

Details: According to renowned journalist and insider Ekrem Konur, Barcelona’s 33-year-old German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen could soon find himself in the English Premier League if Aston Villa manage to reach an agreement with Barcelona.

Reports suggest that amid rumors of Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez leaving, the club is looking to cover their bases by signing the seasoned Barcelona shot-stopper, who has decided to leave Catalonia due to a lack of playing time.

Previously, the Blaugrana’s new head coach Hansi Flick announced that Joan García would be his first-choice keeper, with Ter Stegen relegated to the bench. This situation didn’t sit well with the German keeper, prompting him to seek a move away as soon as possible.

Negotiations between Aston Villa and Barcelona are reportedly at an advanced stage.

This season, Ter Stegen has made just one appearance for Barcelona, featuring in the Copa del Rey clash against Guadalajara, where Marc-André kept a clean sheet.

Ter Stegen’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated at 7 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Reminder: Chelsea interested. Morgan Rogers could leave Aston Villa in the summer of 2026
