Gavi's injury to bring Barcelona six million euros in compensation. Here is why

On November 20, it will be a year since Barcelona’s young midfielder Gavi sustained a serious injury. While he is nearing a return, Barcelona is set to receive around six million euros. And here is why.
Details: Gavi suffered an ACL injury during Spain’s match against Georgia, entitling Barcelona to compensation from FIFA. Under FIFA’s program, clubs receive up to €20,000 per day for injuries sustained by players on national duty, after the player has been sidelined for more than 28 days.
Based on Mundo Deportivo’s calculations, if Gavi returns on the projected date of October 20, Barcelona could receive €6.3 million for his 308 days of absence. However, this amount could increase to the program's maximum of €7.5 million if Gavi remains out until December 16.
Reminder: Barcelona is also without their starting goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen, for the rest of the season, but due to financial constraints, the club opted not to sign a permanent replacement in Diogo Costa.
