Fabrício Bruno Included in Ancelotti’s Preliminary Brazil Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Fabrício Bruno could be among the first names to benefit from Carlo Ancelotti’s new era at the helm of the Brazilian national team. According to Metrópoles, the Cruzeiro defender has been named in a 50-man preliminary list ahead of Brazil’s June World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
Ancelotti, who will officially take charge after the La Liga season with Real Madrid concludes, is set to be unveiled as Brazil’s head coach on May 26—the same day he will announce his final 23-man squad. Fabrício Bruno, a standout performer in Cruzeiro’s backline, already made an appearance for the Seleção in 2024 and is now pushing for a more consistent role.
The preliminary squad, prepared with support from Brazil’s national team director Rodrigo Caetano and technical coordinator Juan, also includes several Flamengo players: Danilo, Wesley, Léo Ortiz, Alex Sandro, Gerson, and Pedro.
Brazil’s upcoming fixtures include a June 5th clash against Ecuador in Guayaquil and a June 10th home match against Paraguay at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo. With Ancelotti’s long-awaited arrival, players like Fabrício Bruno symbolize a balance between experience and fresh momentum as Brazil shapes its squad for the road to 2026.
