The Super Eagles of Nigeria face Uganda’s Cranes in their final AFCON 2025 Group C match today at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Morocco. The fixture carries extra meaning for Ugandan striker Uche Ikpeazu, who has Nigerian and Ugandan heritage but is determined to deliver for Paul Put’s side.

Born in London to an Igbo-Nigerian father from Delta State and a Ugandan mother, Ikpeazu recently made his international debut. He scored off the bench against Tanzania and hopes to find the net again. He told Soccernet.ng he admired Jay-Jay Okocha growing up and described Victor Osimhen as “a special, special striker.”

Despite emotional ties, Ikpeazu was clear about his task. “I play for Uganda, so I'll be hoping to beat Nigeria… So, Dad, I'm sorry,” he said, stressing that the aim is “to get the three points.” Kick-off is 5:00 PM WAT. The winner boosts hopes in Group C.
