Aston Villa to file complaint after controversial referee decision in Man United clash. What happened?

Aston Villa is set to take decisive action after a controversial refereeing decision during their clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford denied the club a chance to qualify for the Champions League.
The controversy erupted when Morgan Rogers dispossessed goalkeeper Altay Bayındır and slotted the ball into the net. However, referee Thomas Bramall had already blown for a foul by the Villa player before the ball crossed the line. Despite the fact that the keeper did not have full control of the ball, VAR could not intervene as the whistle had sounded before the goal.
Since Newcastle lost to Everton, even a draw would have secured Aston Villa a top-five finish and a Champions League spot. After the match, the club announced its intention to file an official complaint to the Premier League.
According to David Ornstein, Villa believes such a crucial match should have been officiated by a more experienced referee. The club has already approached the Premier League for clarification.
The Premier League responded with a statement, emphasizing that the referee judged Bayındır to be in control of the ball, and since the decision was made before the goal, VAR was not permitted to intervene. Birmingham captain John McGinn voiced his disappointment after the game, calling on PGMOL to review the rules to prevent similar incidents in the future.
