Replacement for Onana? Manchester United targets AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan

Manchester United has set its sights on AC Milan and France national team goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The English club sees him as a potential replacement for André Onana, who has failed to live up to the expectations of the management and coaching staff.
According to well-known insider Nicolò Schira, the Red Devils have already begun actively working on a possible transfer for the shot-stopper. The Premier League giants have formally requested the terms of a potential move from the Italian club for the 29-year-old, who also serves as the Rossoneri's captain.
Maignan has been playing for Milan since July 2021. His current contract runs until the summer of 2026. This season, the Frenchman has made 52 appearances across all competitions, conceding 59 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €25 million.
Previously, we reported that Amad Diallo could be heading in the opposite direction, as the Italian side has shown serious interest in the player.
