The German national team has now conceded in 10 consecutive World Cup matches.
Details: In the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 clash against Paraguay, the Germans went into halftime trailing. In the 42nd minute, Julio Enciso found the back of Manuel Neuer’s net.
The last time Germany kept a clean sheet at the World Cup was in the 2014 final, when they edged Argentina 1-0. Since then, the Germans have conceded in every tournament match.
The streak is especially bitter for Neuer. The 40-year-old goalkeeper has now been beaten in ten straight World Cup games, tying the tournament’s unwanted record.
Previously, only Mexican goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal endured a similar run, conceding in ten consecutive World Cup matches between 1950 and 1962.
Reminder: Earlier in the match against Paraguay, Neuer set a German record for the most World Cup starts.
